Hulu and Disney+ subscribers cancelled subscriptions in droves, as Disney park goers pulled out of pricey trips; both moves caused ABC parent company Disney’s stock market value to plummet, with some estimates claiming it to be a loss as big as $4 billion. Hollywood unions representing 400,000 workers also applied pressure, condemning the suspension as an attack on freedom of speech in the US after both the FCC chairman, Brendan Carr, and President Donald Trump cheered on the so-called censorship.
