Mariah Carey performed hits like ‘Honey,’ ‘Heartbreaker’ and ‘We Belong Together’ at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, which aired live from New York City on MTV, CBS and Paramount+. The superstar also accepted the night’s highest honor, the MTV VMA Video Vanguard Award. Ariana Grande presented the trophy to Mariah, and told ET backstage how special the experience was. Mariah, a five-time GRAMMY winner, even joked with ET that she didn’t understand why it took MTV so long to give her her first award!
