The news comes just four months before the election against Republican nominee, former president Donald Trump. Biden writes, ‘I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down.’ Following his announcement, he officially endorsed his Vice President, Kamala Harris, as the Democratic nominee to take his place.
