A casting call announcement she shared reveals the search for ‘the next Princess of Genovia,’ who is a character named ‘Olivia.’ Olivia happens to be the the name of Mia’s secret half-sister in the novel, ‘The Princess Diaries, Volume XI: Royal Wedding,’ leading fans to believe the new film will follow the 2015 book. Anne Hathaway was confirmed to return to the franchise last year. No other cast has been announced, including Julie Andrews, who told ET she’s worried she ‘might just be a little too old a granny for it.’
